Playing Sounds

Post by Scatman » Fri Feb 06, 2009 7:48 pm

LE, I've got a quick question for ya. I extracted the VPKs in the EverQuest II folder and found the sounds. On live, a sound plays when completing a quest (it's called gui_quest_complete in the VPK I think), but the emu does not at the moment. I was looking at how you used the PlaySound function you have and I wasn't sure how the server deals with the string you pass in. In one case, you pass in "coin_cha_ching" to play the coin sound, but it is not (or at least I couldn't find it) called "coin_cha_ching" in the VPK, it's called something else. Do you map the string to file name from the VPK somewhere or am I missing something?

I'm not really sure how it is stored in the client, I only knew what to sent for that sound because I grabbed a similar packet from Live.
