Nobody here
Not sure if this is the correct location to post this, but I loaded up from the ROK box set. I can eneter the game, but the servers show zero population. I can long in, and I realize eq2emu is in the early stages, but does anyone play this on the servers at all, I guess is my question?

Re: Nobody here
People log in time to time but the majority of the players right now are the content/db team while we work on the server in-game. Once we get into beta stage there will be more playability.

Re: Nobody here
I figured if we wanted any content at all, to play on TESS. Is that right?
If that's the case, a friend and I will be playing on TESS some in the near future, to try it on for size and see how things have evolved.

Re: Nobody here
I'm not quite sure how the other servers are doing because I haven't tried any of them out, as I devote all my time to building content on Tess. But my assumption is that Tess does have the most content.

Re: Nobody here
Let me clear up why TessEQ2 is considered the "official DB server". There are a couple of goals in mind;
For the best, official content and bug hunting, check out TessEQ2.
- 1. The EQ2Emulator project needs an offical database, since anyone else with EQ2Emulator sources and a Database editor can literally create any world they like, with any content they wish. The goal of the core team (EQ2Emu World Source and EQ2Emu DB Project) is to create one server/database that is as "live-like" as possible, for those admins who simply wish to run a private EQ2 clone server.
In order to do this with the least amount of headache, I have set up my personal server as this official DB source - where anyone on the DB Project teams will use this server and it's database to this end; a live-like experience. If other admins are creating their own databases with spawns, scripts and other content, they are certainly free to do so. But it would be in the best interest of the project that anyone doing so take part in the actual DB Project Teams themselves - not only to aide them in learning the best processes for creating their own custom database, but it will greatly accelerate our goal of finalizing some content for public release.
2. Having "the most content" on the official DB server is intended to drive players TO that server, instead of scattering them across a dozen servers with mixed content and ideas. This helps identify not only database/content issues but also focuses server development efforts on ONE server for identifying potential bugs. It serves no purpose to report content bugs on this site if the content is on "random_server10", because we have no control over what that admin chooses to do with their content.
3. It is not a contest to see who has the most content, I promise. Our biggest goal is to complete *any* zone to release to the public, but we are an extremely small team taking on this huge task. If we had 20 people hammering out content, things would go much quicker. As it stands, we have about 3-4 helping... that could take months, per zone.
For the best, official content and bug hunting, check out TessEQ2.
