Connecting to Tess?
I am having trouble connecting to Tess server.
I can creat my character but when I go to enter game it just stays at "logging into server" and the progress bar goes no further. Have left it there for about 15 min and nothing happens...whats up?

Re: Connecting to Tess?
Let's start with your client version. We cannot begin to diagnose a problem if we do not have any information besides "it doesn't work". Though the stuck at login problem is a common one, usually trying a few more times clears things up.
Also, deleting the contents of your clients ./cache and ./logincache-* folders especially if you are switching the client from Live to Emu.

A couple of ways.soulbreaker360 wrote:how do I check my client version?
You can run the game in windowed mode, and in the window title bar it will list something like this: EverQuest II(Jul 31 2008 15:38:00)USER OPTIMIZED:SOEBuild=5016L
We want the value SOEBuild=5016L, thats the version.
Or you can go into the installed folder and right click on EverQuest2.exe and select 'Properties' from the context menu.
Then select the 'Version' tab, then finally click on 'SOEBuild' in the information box and it will show you the value there.
(Edit: This works in Windows XP, I can't figure out how to do it in Vista *boggle*, just another reason I hate Vista)

Re: Connecting to Tess?
The update server should push the latest opcodes to you. As long as you have the structs updated + the opcodes the latest client should work just fine.

Oops. Had the updates turned off. =)
Got em now, and structs are in place. Soulbreaker, try it again.

Re: Connecting to Tess?
Yes, of course they will.
Right now, there is no real progression... chars on Tess will not be wiped until EQ2Emu goes to Beta, which is a ways away. So your data is preserved for now. The only thing that usually gets changed up are Quests, Items and Spells, since that is the primary data development right now.

Re: Connecting to Tess?
Sure, if you can type "/level 80", you are level 80.
That is what I mean, by it is not a playable experience just yet. Beta will be far away, months, maybe longer, and relies on how much server code gets completed. Our content will be ready probably before the server is.
