When the emu becomes more mature, will the actual eq2 live game content be available for play?

Live content will probably never be available to play. it is too hard to have people patch to a specific point between expansions. Once RoK goes live, the plan is to set it up to run on that retail box. Next November, when the next expansion comes out (heres hoping for velious!) I would expect LE to update the EQ2Emu software to support that retail expansion and everything up to it.
With that model, that gives us plenty of time (a year) to work on getting everything up and running between now and the next major update.

Zexis, my take on what he asked was wether or not things like spawns, quests, NPCs, items and such will be available.
If that is the case, then yes, that stuff we be available in due time. The process to get all the content from LIVE over to the emulator is a tedious one. You have to think, LIVE has 3 years up on us as far as content goes. We certainly wont take 3 years to get all the stuff in play, but dont expect a LIVE like expierence for at least 6 months to a year down the road.
The process works like this. People (you and me) while playing LIVE, do what we call packet collecting, in which we intercept and save all informaiton that is directly available to us at any give time in the zone. Like spawns, items, NPCs. This data has to be sorted and converted into MySQL DB data and then put into the database for your server. From that point, people must go in and add things like pathing, skill sets, encounters ect...
Questing on the other hand for the most (or all) can not be packet collected, it must be manually written in some form of scripting code that the emulator can interpet. Once its done, you attach it to the NPC that is supposed to grant and reward that quest and its now available to you in your server.
Its a LONG process, and it requires many people and countless hours to make happen. Dertimation comes to mind when I think of it. EQEmu still does not have even 50% content completed and LIVE like, and look how old that is. Granted though, there was lots of changes and bugs that caused such a delay there.
The dev team here know more than they did when they started EQEmu, and such, can take steps to smooth over the process of gathering and implementing game content.
But its still going to take some time....
(Some of the above is, like I always say, assumption. I could be wrong on some things, but maybe only 90/10, or 85/15 right/wrong
)
