Updated to 6.5 and Zone data is missing
I updated to 6.5, and eq2world loads everything up normally, no error messages at least. But my zones list is empty which completely prevents me from being able to log into my server. Any ideas?

Try to recreate your database and try again. If you still have issues please let me know.

In LoginServer.ini, turn on the verbose logging for auto updates, too. So you can see clearly if something is erroring.

Yea, I tried recreating again but it still seems to be failing to add certain things. I get an error when checking the visual states as well as the zone table remaining empty. I'm not really sure what is going wrong, could someone perhaps provide a functioning sql of the current or prior database I could try loading to see if it works?

I do not like delivering DB this way, but since you are having problems and we cannot see your precise errors, here is a full copy of the DB taken a few weeks ago. Source it in, connect, and you should get the newer updates.
PS: It serves no purpose to simply say "it don't work". We need exact errors, screen shots, pasted console screens or logs, verbose logging on, etc. If a little effort is put in on your part, the problem could actually be solved the right way.

I get the error to. It creates the 'zones' table but does not add any zones.

Thing is, I still do not know what "the error" is. JCL, perhaps you'll tell me.JCL wrote:I get the error to. It creates the 'zones' table but does not add any zones.

Re: Updated to 6.5 and Zone data is missing
Thank you JCL. First thing, that CREATE zones table is ancient, not even close to what our zones table looks like now. That's probably the problem, the inserts have more columns now.
I just did a complete new DB a few weeks ago and had no problem building zones. I'll try it again, but that seems odd...
JCL, your Update server is wrong.
This is the update server URL for months now. Not sure how major the impact is, but this is not correct.

Re: Updated to 6.5 and Zone data is missing
Ahh, I see what it's doing. Sorry, I was a little confused. I thought after the DB Update Server changes, we were no longer pushing out ancient table structures, but starting with stuff at a 65000 level. My bad. What it is doing is pushing the original table, then applying all changes made since then (which it is designed to do). There are no FAILED statements, except the one that tries to update characters.current_zone_id, which is the known issue why you have to update twice. Someday I'll convince LE to fix that
just not important right now.
The failure really is in the fact that the zones "Data Updates" are not even bothering to come down at all. After table 'zones' is created, the next thing I would expect to see is the DATA for zones, but nothing. Just moves on to the next table update.
This is probably an LE-level fix. I do not know how to manipulate the DB server updates. This has happened sometime in the last few weeks, too. Because I have a populated zones table from then. We'll get it fixed, thanks for pointing it out.

Sounds like he has autotabledata set to false in his LoginServer.ini file.

Nah man. I got the same problem dropping my DB and starting a new one. Got data for all other tables, except zones. No errors either. Just "empty" your DB and reconnect, you should see it too.LethalEncounter wrote:Sounds like he has autotabledata set to false in his LoginServer.ini file.
Hate to say it, but it is a valid problem

Hmm, I must have ran the wrong query or something. Looking at the database, the table was emptied sometime between the 12th and the 15th. I'll have to restore the data from the backup on the 12th. Sorry about that
