New to the site and have a question
This all looks great, I'm just curious to know if anyone has a server that is running fine without a bunch of bugs and errors? I was searching through the forums and all I see is people trying to fix problems, but no one has said it is working for them. I wouldn't mind putting in the time to get this working but only if its actually gonna work when im done. Thanks for any input you might have.

wasnt trying to offend anyone. I have hosted WoW private servers and from what i have seen here it looks like you are making an emulator so people can host private everquest 2 servers. my question was whether this is far enough along to be worth trying to get a server set up or not. When i hosted a WoW server it was more of a headache than fun because of all the bugs and crashing and i dont want to waste the time trying to set this up if its going to be the same thing.

Re: New to the site and have a question
not really sure what sort of answer you are looking for, but yes you can start building your own server with what is offered at present. will there be bugs , yes most likely if you take a look at the server bugs section maybe that will give ya a idea of anything that is known to be a bug or cause crashes. for the most part though the server is playable there is basic and advanced support for alot of systems there is a thread around here that will tell you in detail with numbers stating how far along a system is on a scale.
if you are asking if I have consent crashes and bugs making it impossible for me to test content/make content on my own server i have to say no I have had little to no crashes. I can get a server up and going in little time and have fun. just make backups of your database regularly. incase you do have problems better safe then sorry on that.

This project is in its alpha state. Why don't you try to log in to a running server and found out what you deem 'far enough along'?
We essentially have one primary coder, so development is not the fastest in the world, but I can tell you, what we do have is pretty damn stable for its condition. There are invariably going to be some bugs at this development stage.

Usually I am the first one to jump someone's ass for not understanding what "Alpha Development" means. Well, done, Zco! I taught you well. j/k cman
I will follow up with some additional points though. The database you will get when you install is empty - no spawns, no items, no nothin. Just core data, enough for you to run your world and play with in-game commands, like /spawn create. The DB Project database is not released, and will not be for some time yet... but the structure is in place for you to at least familiarize yourself with the server functionality.
That said, an empty world will run fabulous. You will probably never encounter a disconnect or crash with no spawns trying to be sent to your client. Right now, I'd say that is one of our biggest problems - but they are almost beaten down, and even with over-populated (raw) zone data, the Content Team is finding it hard to crash anything anymore.
Thanks to our crack dev team (of 2 or 3 guys), we have a very solid, efficient server started. It is months-to-years from being finished... but, we're not in any hurry. We're having fun doing what we do. That's the point.
