EQ2 Update
The site tells me to update to patch 5740L...but when I run the updater it automatically goes to 5771L. How and when would I get my version to stay at 5740L???? Please if anyone can help me that would be awesome. Thanks

Re: EQ2 Update
This site also tells you that the max client supported is 5740L and none higher, and also suggests that discussing "back-patching" is a bannable offense.
If you have passed the current supported version, your only choice is to a) re-install ROK or TSO BOX SET, or b) wait til 5771L is supported and keep a safe backup of it.

Re: EQ2 Update
I am not asking about backpatching my EQ2, actually i own the game itself, but when i install it its not at version 5740. its at a earlier version. I am wondering if theirs a way to patch it to 5740 and not have it jump automatically to 5771? i actually own 3 versions of EQ2 (obviously not all of them have all the expansions). Is it supposed to work if i just install the game (either ROK or TSO) and not update them? or is their some special way to only have the game update to 5740?

Re: EQ2 Update
Also are earlier versions of EQ2 supported such as REG EQ2, and those before ROK?

Where does it say to UPDATE to patch 5740L? I don't see anything like that.Ultanamesis wrote:The site tells me to update to patch 5740L...but when I run the updater it automatically goes to 5771L. Re: EQ2 Update
Just install Rok or TSO and thats it, then play. No need to patch or anything!

Re: EQ2 Update
That is all you need, period. DVD's from SOE, without any patching whatsoever. Install ROK, -or- TSO, change your eq2_defaults.ini, and play.Ultanamesis wrote:i own the game itself
No patching required.
No patching required.
No patching required.
However, if you want to use the latest client, our emulator supports multiple clients of many, many versions since ROK/TSO (unlike those other guys), but we do NOT chase Live unless data or functionality requires it. So as this site repeats, over and over, get a working client, then back it up and do not patch it again.
Native ROK, TSO, will work.
No patching required.
