Hey all new here just a quick question iv looked all over and i find conflicting stories about what you can and cannot use to connect client wise

1: clean install of Kunark or shadow odessey?

2:play the fae?

or both as there is a trial of the shadow odessey or kunark now and can u install the previous disc secrets of fedwyer and patch up to current without loging to soney live?

No conflicting stories here, just that the trial we are UNSURE will work and cannot guarantee a working client.

But we can guarantee a working client with a clean/fresh/no-patches install of RoK OR tSO

Iv installed the game [retail] and then patched to live with the trial account (5831L) but haven't tested it due to having a later build than the login server.

Once the login servers caught up ill give you a definite yes or no to trial accounts working.

Looks like it should tho, but not 100% sure, everyone has said no but i cant see why it shouldn't :)

Tried, didn't work :)

Also got a 5561L exe from ma m8, that didn't work, but im sure the dll's or some other files been updated so even if i change the exe it will still think its the latest build?

Anyway game didn't run version miss match or something, + that patcher didn't change the build on the 5831L

Im not in that much of a rush, but once the login has been updated i will know for sure.

[EDIT]

Patch.exe matched checksum or did not exist.
EQ2EMuPatcher.exe matched checksum or did not exist.

And says client not supported by login when trying to login lol :p

Plus the client exe wont budge its build :p

That works :p

So, to sum that up, u can use the trial account method, patch to live, it downloads all the addon crap ull need, use that eq2 patcher and set it to a working build [one that actually says its downloading the exe] and away u go, altho back up your old live exe, and patch the game when they update the login server and continue to use the live version [all be it without the eq2.exe and when the login server updates, update your live [trial account] and just change the ini XD

Nice trial-n-error work, Weeman. You get a cookie!

Thanks for testing that out.

Yeah Weeman sure, have one of those... Things.

Thanks, we finally have a solid standard -with evidence- response to the trail account!

Just doing my bit :)

However, don't know if its just me, but my server doesn't show up and when i try hosting my m8's server it does show up, but cant connect...

Could be ports on router [had them problems before]

But its not the game, i can get on Tess server :)
