Re: busy servers?
Logging into IRC may help you out as well. There's people and information there that might lead you to a solution.
As for instructions on client version, that is not true - while it should not be our responsibility to teach people how to check version numbers on their files, I personally wrote a very detailed guide on what to provide us with when asking for help... the same guide no one ever reads.

Re: busy servers?
trend I am sorry but you have all the information to resolve this issue. when i asked you to tell us how it went I was more interested in the outcome of using JA's server pack to install a working server database and personal login server which you could connect to by using 127.0.0.1 as the login server address.. and it is the easiest way to get a server up and running
the reason is I am not sure how the public login server is setup and if it has additional checks to the clients version that the mini-login does not have and if so would it let you login and play around or not.. and if it does then all that needs to be done is to allow that client's version to login to the public LS.
this topic is going out of bounds of policy and your question has been answered with many options.

Re: busy servers?
Ok I was not interested in starting my own server, it would be fun but I was just trying to log into emu to help with the testing and hopefully enjoy some playtime. I resolved my issue by patching to Live via creating a station login and updated my files (as of this date) and build 5499L seemed to connect to emuaddress with no issue. However at or around the 2 minute mark of creating a character I get the error box "lost connection to servers" and it closes out the program. Just wanted to update all and say that I was able to log in and the current live patch of client 5499L does work for me as of today. Going to try to rush a toon and try to get on a server. Ill report back with results.

Re: busy servers?
Disco during character creation is a known issue, and LE has it "on the list" to try and resolve. For now the best advice is since appearances are not 100% perfect anyway, get something as close to what you like and save the character options regularly... so when you get kicked and have to come back, you can just reload the options and continue.
Note: Characters (and all data) are subject to being wiped during development - this emulator is not RELEASED - so I wouldn't spend too much time prettying up a character just yet.

Re: busy servers?
seems like the appropriate thread for this. I'm running 5122L and I get the server is busy when I try to login. Any help would be appreciated but bear in mind I'm a computer neanderthal. I'm lucky I can figure out that when it doesn't turn on it's probably the power unplugged

"when it doesn't turn on it's probably the power unplugged" ROFL!!!!
Well, update to live, log on there irc channel and ull see a link to the EQ2EMU Patcher. Use that and get your client exe to 5709L, its an older one but the eq2emu patcher doesn't seem to work for the latest build exe.
Then patch the ini so it connects to the emu login and not live, then simply run
If you want more help ill do a step by step for you but it should be fine

"We don't need no stinking Wiki's!!!"
Maybe in this case, since no one at all is updating anything, we should lock editing to just staff members for now. That way Zexis won't go there and get inaccurate no-data.
