XChat and IRC can go to hell!

Both have made me subscribe. Anyone know of a free IRC client that won't secretly force me to subscribe? :)

On the rare occasion I am on, I just use the browser based client. No downloads. I think its a java app or something.

ChatZilla is a good FireFox plugin, but it does have a few quirks, crashes the browser sometimes, but overall pretty stable. If you're looking for a solid irc client with all the features and is 100% free, I recommend IceChat http://www.icechat.net/site/. That's what I use.

I normally use Visual IRC after being recommended it. It's free.
