Hello!

Post by fatal » Thu Aug 02, 2007 4:30 pm

I'm new to the whole scene. Been waiting for an EQ2 emulator, because I'm sick of paying for the game. :P
I'd like to help out, but it's been nearly two years since I last coded, and I only have a small amount of experience with VB..
But I guess if you need any graphical help, I might be able to do something for you.. I've been using Photo-Shop for quite some time now.
anyways.. Hey!

Welcome to EQ2EMu fatal. Thanks for offering to help us out, at this time we are pretty covered. Although if you know any friends interested, they should signup to the forums. The more people here the better, a strong community builds a strong development team.

I think I might have a few friends to invite. I know a couple people that never played EQ2 simply because they didn't want to pay the money. But if they here about this, then theres a good chance they'll come.

Hey, welcome to the project fatal. I think the project is being coded in c++ so vb is out of the question there, but you skills will still come in handy down the road if you choose so. For example, you could possible right DB editing programs, sever gui windows ect..
Anyone, welcome again!

You may need a bit more experience to write these types of programs, though :) .

Well, I think Kayot over on EqEmu wrote his Editor via VB.net. Which of course could be totally different than just plain old VB, cause Im no expert. I just new you could probably make some very generic programs with VB, so a GUI style sever launcher wouldnt be that bad, hell, you can make a server launcher via batch files, but its one way and no gui.
Oh well, im a noob and thats all that counts.
