Major graphics glitch
I think someone else may have reported this already, but here's the pic. I logged in for the first time on new code today, and now I have a bouquet of flowers sticking out of my elbow. Maybe they are for me mum?
I hear tell that when you /zone, it fixes itself.
K, this one was even better.
Let's see... my head is gone, but I have a helmet on.
My pants are a bush
My chest is a pink box, and my "moobs" are showing
I am wearing some seriously obscene underpants
And I pooped a pile of books.

Re: Major graphics glitch
I have noticed the same thing on the NPCs on Sytherian Legends. Some of them are wearing dressers and armoires instead of weapons...

Re: Major graphics glitch
So I have been doing a little testing on Sytherian Legends on this issue. The problem is the server is now randomly generating equipment appearances as well as skin color, eye color, etc. Generally if you manually set equipment in a slot, it won't random appearance items in that slot. However there are several issues with this-
1.) It doesn't only pick models that are appropriate for the slot (as John illustrated).
2.) It is adding equipment to models that shouldn't have equipment. For instance the Varsoon Model (#8648) has a robe built into the model, however because it is a humanoid model, the server is generating additional armor which clips through the model.
If the random armor/weapon appearances is intentional, we need to be able to turn this on/off on a model by model basis (or at least server wide). I know there is a randomize value in the DB records of spawn_npcs but after playing with it, it doesn't seem to do anything.

Re: Major graphics glitch
Correction, the randomize effect even over-writes assigned appearance equipment.

Scatman has some 'splainin ta do!
See, we were experimenting with "What if World randomly generated appearances rather than us having 200 of the same spawn, each with a different eye"... and well, have you ever seen The Fly?
Yeah. Science playing God, sorry.

Re: Major graphics glitch
The randomize function was never intended to randomize the base pants, chest types, and of course put flowers on your body, etc
. It was intended to randomize only certain parts of NPCs which you want randomized (you can find what values correspond to which parts in npc.h). I'm going to take a look at it now and see if I can figure out what's on.

Re: Major graphics glitch
Just to clear the air, I was only funnin' with the Scatman up there
I do not really think his NPC-only /randomize function is what's causing flowers to burst out our armpits. But when we make many major changes in a short span of time, it's hard to say what is causing what, and requires the experts (LE and Scat) to look into it. I can only speculate, since I do not know - all I know is, it's not right.

LE, using Dev SVN 856, I still got bugs at my feet!
