Quest Update Delays

Post by Scatman » Sat Jul 11, 2009 9:29 pm

LE,
Receiving a quest update when using SetStepComplete from within a lua conversation are sometimes extremely slow. It seems to be random (at least to me) about how long it takes to receive the quest update and for the next conversation to pop up, but it seems to be around 10 seconds. Also, if you get a quest award along with the quest update, it'll take another 10 seconds between the quest update and to see the quest reward box display. So that's 20 seconds to wait from clicking the conversation option to seeing the quest reward box.

Edit:
John just checked the log for me.

Code: Select all

[20090711 22:09:42] Possible deadlock attempt by 'Client::MQuestPendingUpdates'!
This is using the latest on SVN (774).

Scat, this one is back. Try the first quest in OO, soon as you defeat the sparring partner and talk to Darg. On the "Is there anything else I can do?" step, it took almost 30 seconds for me to get a response to teh next dialog.

Also, when I first accepted the task from Tayil, I was facing Darg, and when I accepted I got almost all the way to him before the book popped over his head.

I saw nothing in the console. It wasn't really long enough to be a typical deadlock imo, just a delay.
