IRC

Post by bolly » Tue Sep 29, 2009 8:58 pm

Hey all,

Any chance you can sort IRC out? Do you really need to host your own server? Why not point it at Freenode or some well maintained network like that?

Would love to see the IRC channel thrive along side the forums, i for one would be willing to hang out in there and assist passers by!

Cheers

Bolly

Is something wrong with irc://eq2emulator.net?

Edit: Hmm, apparently there is. I believe the service is hosted by EQEmulator.net, and Rogean. I'll see if I can contact him myself, else we'll get LE to look into it.

fwiw, I host my own IRC as well, with zero desire to use a public service because I am a control freak, want no rules and everything my way. :)

Just checked with Rogean, he does not run our IRC so LE will need to fix it. But there is one, and normally it's working - and absolutely silent.

I do try to hang in there and it's not so silent unfortunately. Without quoting directly, i'd like to say it's full of absolute idiots/kids. You should pop by and listen to what the mystical 'xabob' and his friends have to say.

Which IRC is that?

I just learned from EQEmu IRC that Image has aids. Poor guy. ;)

Yeah, you won't get that kinda silliness in our IRC usually. . . I say usually... cuz I've been known to talk about poop a lot.

I just forgot to start it after I rebooted the other day. I'll add it to the automatic startup scripts.
