POIs can anyone think of a way...

Post by bolly » Thu Oct 01, 2009 2:00 pm

Hey all,

Without me sending custom files to people, can anyone think of a way of sending them via the server? Maybe there's already a way that i'm not sure of :-)

At the moment with a custom server, it's a bit confusing i guess if people fire up the map. What i'd like to do is wipe those and just send the ones that are relevent to the server that is connected.

I'm not sure how the client does it already but with the 'fog of war' they don't appear on the map. Not sure if this is client side only but if anyone could give me some suggestions that would rock

Cheers

Bolly

Pretty sure all default POIs are in the default UI xml's. I remember seeing them in there when I was looking for how to build our in-game location detection.

Probably why when you use EQ2Map, you have to change your UI to EQ2Map. You'll have no choice but to send files, I'm afraid.

You can actually send custom POIs, it is part of the WS_FogInit struct. The struct itself needs some help and the code to handle POIs is one of those things that I would love to do, just havent gotten to it yet.
