Failing spawnscripts

Post by bolly » Sun Oct 11, 2009 3:56 pm

For some reason an npc with a spawn script suddenly stopped functioning. There's nothing above his head but the script is still attached. Has something changed recently that might affect this?

His chat works fine but it doesn't pick up on the quest id 2

if HasQuest(Spawn, 2) then

instead it falls through to the else

I restarted the server as a last ditch effort and when I logged back into the room with the target NPC, the quest was no longer in my active quests window (nor completed, not that i'd expect that but i checked anyway)

This would explain why HasQuest failed. I guess there's an issue somewhere between the function that sends the quest to my quest window and writes it to the database.

Got the quest again, it showed in my window and the npc allowed me to progress. I'll leave the rest with you guys.

This is a major quest for me it's part of progression and the first step.

I think there is an issue with saving completed quests into the db. It's happened to me before too but it happens so rarely I can never seem to figure out what's going on. Next time it happens, can you immediately check your character_quests table to verify that the quest is or is not in there?
