Wrong Client Version, but it isn't.

Post by cobra101 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 9:13 pm

Hey folks, very new around here to please excuse anything stupid I might ask.
Did some searching around the forums and thought I'd ask:
I'm using the server pack w/minilogin and I'm receiving and error when trying to log in
stating I have the wrong version. I'm using 5771L (Jul 16) and I'm running with updated
XMLs and the worldexe from the SVN. I was reading about the opcodes but the best
I found is copying the updated from my world db to my ls db. Didn't work, assuming my world db
was correctly updated when I logged into the eq2 world with it set normally not localhost.
I'm quite experienced with SQL so if I need new opcodes lemme know where to get em
or what they need to be updated to. Thanks in advance for any help. Great instructions all over btw. 8)

Did you download updates from the public database update server?

If you run this query on your DB, it should return 962 rows

Code: Select all

SELECT * FROM opcodes WHERE version_range2 >= 972 ORDER BY id

Aye. Ran it on my eq2 db returned 962 records.
Then ran it on my LS and only had I believe it was 400-something.
Copied over structure and data from my world to my ls DB twice again, same issues.
Finally worked the third time and gave me 962. Idk, maybe Navicat was just being a twit. lol
Thanks for helping me catch it! 8)

P.S. Thanks for the quick response, too bad I had to leave so fast yesterday lol.

You need the correct world exe version (eg. 0.7.0) in your login_versions table.

At this time the MiniLogin does not work with the latest clients, it will hang at loading entities. Stay tuned for updates.

The "ServerPack" he's referring to last July was built by me, and was working fine with the current client of the day (5771). In fact, EQ2LoginServer.exe only stopped taking new clients after GU53, I think. I haven't released an updated pack due to many core changes in Emu itself that were very crashy, but I will evaluate if it's stable enough for a new release.

I assumed since we were still using 0.6.5, that 0.6, 0.6.5, and 0.7.0 in the Versions table was enough. I didn't think this version had anything to do with who is allowed to connect, vs that you had the right opcodes ranges to match the structs you were using. I've never had to change login versions before, I don't think?
