I have seen this a couple of times now creating new characters. The server accepts the new character, but the servers does log the character into world, I get this box.
Notice the dual characters...
If you hit the back button and select the newly created character from the list, the world will then let you in.
This happened on Blizz's server as well.
Happens in 3 different client versions.
