Re: Cannot Connect to Server
Did you NOT READ the forum sticky before asking for help?
With the lack of information, I would say NO.
A little snippet from that sticky

What server are you trying to connect to? *
Be very specific, if it is your own, we still need to know at least the World Name from your servers LoginServer.ini. If it is someone elses server (you are just a player), the server name listed on your character select screen will do.

Re: Cannot Connect to Server
Well then the problem is on your end, as I can connect to all servers that were up - TessEQ2 and Blizz'sDurge wrote:This connetion problem is occuring on all servers.
You will only be able to get into worlds that have green boxes.
Worlds with Yellow boxes require special admin access, and servers with red boxes are offline.

Re: Cannot Connect to Server
Actually in the client, Yellow means "high load" and red means "locked". Not the same as our statuses elsewhere, though it would be nice. Basically, offline servers should not even show up in char create at all.Zcoretri wrote:Worlds with Yellow boxes require special admin access, and servers with red boxes are offline.

Re: Cannot Connect to Server
I wasn't trying to help you.
But now that you have my attention... how are you picking a server that is "busy" if you have not yet created a character? You have to create a character before you pick a server, and before you Enter World.
When you run everquest2.exe, the first box you see is Login. That is the name/pass you created in the Account Management module.
Next, you should build a character. Pretty him up any way you like.
Last, pick a name and highlight a server (GREEN ONE), and click Finish, Play, Connect, Done, whatever. If at THAT point you get the Busy message, click Back.
You should now see your new 1 toon listed. Click Enter World, or whatever your screen says to let you into the game.
If it still says Busy, then I'm at a loss. Never had that happen before.

It's not saying "busy" anymore.
It is crashing my eq2 when i try to load my character from the character list.

Re: Cannot Connect to Server
Try deleting the /cache/ and /logincache*/ folders. Might be some bad data in there.

Re: Cannot Connect to Server
It sounds like to me that something is interfering with your connection. Does the same problem occur on other computers in the house? Does the same thing happen when you try to connect to Live? What are your system specs? Are you on a LAN? If so, how many other computers share your network? Do you have a firewall? Try turning it off temporarily and see if you can connect. Usually when your client is the only one that outright crashes, and everyone else can connect without problems, it's your setup that the problem. Try doing a clean reinstall of your EQ2, without patching. All of the older clients from RoK upwards are fully compatible. Most importantly, run AV and ASW scans just to rule that possibility out.
Just confirmed, I was able to log on and play using clients 6114L and 6122L.

Re: Cannot Connect to Server
Antivirus and Antispyware scans. These should be done at least once a week, more often if your comp "doesn't feel right". You would be surprised at what can slip through, and how it affects your comp without you even noticing. A couple of days ago, I thought my comp was pretty secure (Nod32, Windows Defender, Vista Firewall), until I started hearing random ads being played through my speakers in the background. Come to find out, I picked up a trojan from somewhere, and that opened the door for the next one, and the next one, and the next one...when I finally caught it, I had a load of adware installed in the dark recesses of Windows. I didn't notice it until my comp started "acting weird", such as browsing going slow, gaming slowed to near impossible playability, and some games I couldn't connect to at all.
