Server's Down?

Post by brzerkr66 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 12:54 am

Hi,

I have this version (Rise of Kunark Box Set unpatched client version 4412L). I changed eq2_server.ini to the recommended settings. Start the program through Everquest2.exe. Log in with the name acreated in the Account Management Module...but after I hit the login button it says, after a few seconds, "Trying login Server #1" then says i cannot login, server may be busy, try again in a few minutes. Please help!

The TessEQ2 server has been hung up since 9pm MST, and I have just restarted it and tested a login. Not sure what happened, usually we get a crash but in this case she was locked solid.

Try it again and let me know if you still get a Busy signal.

Hmm, there might be something up with the 4412L (ROK) box set then. As the emulator progresses, older data versions might get accidentally knocked out of whack. We'll have to investigate it further using the ROK set.

Any change you can patch, or use TSO? If not, I'd stay where you are (4412) til we sort it out.

TSO = The Shadow Odyssey. It's the next box set we officially supported. No worries about all that though. I just booted up my 4412L RoK client and it connects to TessEQ2 perfectly... so it's not the Login or World servers, it's something you have setup wrong on your end.

You could try what the other guy did, uninstall RoK, delete EVERY FILE (even the Everquest2 folder) and re-install. Then just change the eq2_default.ini as instructed, and run Everquest2.exe. See if that works.

Oh one more thing...I am running Vista 64-bit. Would that have any effect even if I used the recommended adjustments?

EQ2Emu does support 64-bit systems. I'm not sure if the 64-bit client can connect to a 32-bit server, or if it has to connect to a 64-bit server. One of the developers should be able to answer this question.
