Harvesting quest items raises appropriate skill??

I wonder if harvesting quest items (let's say, gathering faeicia herbs) should raise appropriate harvesting skill level (gathering skill in this case)...

I cannot say how that works in Live EQ2, but in ours, I am not sure it's normal "gathering" (Scatman?) so not sure if the skills are raised while gathering for quests.

they are raised i just don't know whether they _should_ to - i got some points in "gathering" while harvesting quest items

I can concur that this is indeed the case
