Let us party on then!

Post by tbclycan » Fri Jan 22, 2010 1:08 am

So I hate subscription fees with a passion, and if anyone tries to use the exuse, "Why would you go on a private server and put hard working people out of work?" I would reply with, "Well if that would put EQ employees out of work, then how do free to play games like Crossfire and Runescape not put people out of work?". I personally believe EQ and WoW should be free to play but like DDO have a store where you can use real money, and a subscription option where you can get special features free players cannot. There is my long introduction on how I feel about subscription fees and private servers explaining the reason I am here, now me. I am a bisexual furry, philosopher, gamer, and geek. I guess now we can add pirate to that list but the debate still rages on legality of private servers. My fursona is cat, fox, and wolf "in-essance" meaning it has no true form other then being either a cat, fox, or wolf. Not sure if there is anything else I should put here but this seems good enough.

Then again, the SOE subscription model; Pay to Play, AND pay more to play on "special" servers that give you more cool stuff than those who only shell out $30/mo (Legends - does that even exist anymore?)

I fear if SOE didn't charge a fee, they wouldn't bother keeping the games around. They are way too fiscally motivated to care about our wallets :)

I noticed that John and Arremis ignored the part about your personal life. Not that your personal life plays any role on the interwebs because you could be trolling but you're the first person to ever admit being a furry

In reality, SOE's motive for their prices are of no concern to us, the consumers. They are offering a service that nobody is forcing you to consume. We don't know their financial needs, as we can only speculate. So in reality, you are avoiding their fees because it is inconvenient to you, not because their model is unfair.
