SVN for content

Post by Riven » Fri Apr 23, 2010 3:08 am

Hi all, looking at SVN, I see quests and other LUA files are not being updated as happens with world and source files. I think the LUA content released last time would be awesome to be maintained/updated in the SVN, so:

1.-When a LUA file is updated, people will get it on time
2.-Won't have the problem of 2 people working on the same LUA file (I know that won't happen soon, but maybe not programming gurus can begin working on that when asking to give help to the project, a cool written guide can help).
3.-Probably more people will work on quests or npcs due to having it there and posting changes in forums
4.-For completeness sake we'll have all programming content in one place and DB in another, you can even keep updating the DB file from time to time in a separate download file, so people will have always last approved content and world.

That's my 5 cts. :P

Good suggestion. We got that under control though. Soon as any of us get time, we have a new SVN ready for the 0.7 release, which will include any DB/Scripts and all our tools.

Already in the works.
