Unable to submit character for approval...

Post by CaptainBeast » Thu Nov 15, 2007 5:28 am

I followed all the directions to for setting up a server. I finally got the everquest2 client to load and create a character. Now, when I select the server that I created in the first few steps and sumbit my character for approval it just sits there and doesn't do anything.
I'm not really sure what's going on here.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Your username is AbsoluteSlob right? If so, then you are using the wrong version. The version you are using is 4517 from 2007/11/11 19:41:31. The only versions that work right now are 4427L and 4412. Version 4412 came on the RoK disks and if you updated to live, you will have to reinstall the game to play the emu.

Thanks for the reply Lethal.
I finally got a patched version of EQ2 for regular play and reinstalled the one from the Rise of Kunark DVD's. It's version 4412. I still cannot connect though. It's just sits there saying submiting character for approval but never gets approved.
I'm really at a loss as to know what's up here.
Thanks,
Mike

That is odd. I verified your version from your logs and you are now running 4412. Does your world display anything in the output window? I just created one on my server and it worked fine.

Sorry for the delay in replying, but no, there's nothing out of the ordinary displayed in the world.exe window.
I'm really not sure what's going on.
Thanks

Try putting a # character in front of internalworldaddress and delete the table_versions table from your database.

Well, that's an improvement:

I am also using HeidiSQL for setting things up. Could the fact that I keep it loaded affect things?

Having HeidiSQL open should not do anything, I leave it open to the DB all the time.

The last time I tried to summit a Character I got the message showed above and my world .exe had alot of things writen added to it.
Now if I try again, my world.exe does not add anything, it stays has it was when loaded (before I load the game eq2) and I get this message again

I deleted my Database and recreated it and now everything is working (cheers) now I just need to learn how to spawn stuff and create items and make them stay after logging or zoning :)

I am happy for you. I tried that too, several times, uninstall the server files, deleted the MYSQL folders. Reinstall it all but I am always stuck with the same problem. :(
P.S. Is the fact that I am behind a router plays a role in my problem?
