The main character of Doom 3 also didn't grasp the concept of Flashlight in one hand, gun in other.

Or ductape, for you know. Light to gun adhesion.

The original EQ2 live servers had a keen grasp at class adhesion. Just because they couldn't balance the classes too well, they made each of the classes more similar to their dual subclass branch. For example, the mystic and the defiler are very similar, since recently, and apparently, the Defiler is the better defensive healer, which doesn't make sense. As it was originally sought out, the defiler would be better at debuffing their enemies, decreasing their damage output, have more efficient heals, and a healing component to their wards; the mystic would have better wards, and better mitigation buffs: Each had a unique way of preventing damage, but I guess SOE thought it was too complicated for our decisionless playstyle.
