Crashing/Locking Up

Hey guys, I just downloaded the EQ2Emulator-ServerPack.1.2 and a fresh copy of TSO from the CD's... Serverpack loads up just fine, EQ loads up, I put in Admin/Admin, that works.. I can create a character or try to log in as the admin and it gets up to the last part of sending the character to the game, I think thats how its worded and it freezes... I did finally get logged in once but locked up as soon as I moved.. I removed all the characters then tried again with the same results... What do you guys think?

I'm having the same problem.

I just installed everything and it worked fine (after unchecking the read only boxes...not sure why they were selected) but when I log in with the admin character it gets stuck after it's done "Loading Enity Resources".

I tried the emu client and I was able to log in with a character fine.

I'm gonna keep on searching for a fix and I'll keep you posted if I find anything.

I am running the servers "as is" on a 64bit Vista machine. Not sure if this has any part in the problem.

I can't really be much of help in this department, till one of the dev's get back and they can help you out first hand, but I'll set a few things straight for you.

From the sounds of it, I think we have had this problem before. I'll see what I can dig up, but if memory serves John was still working on the 1.2 serverpack for a particular issue. This sounds like it is.

Unfortunately, I'm the guy with all the words around here: So none of my help will be technical!

I did a full uninstall and reinstall placing the game in the C: drive despite my personal peeve of not putting ANYTHING there not windows related.

I logged into admin and BOOM crash.

I created a second toon but this time in Faydwer and...

I AM IN!!!

That worked for him, you should try it out. Hope it helps.

Well, I still have problems creating a character and logging into the Queens Colony so I think that's where the problem is.

I am in the middle of working on making a character and starting in the other areas to check those zones out but as of right now I can start in Greater Faydark without any problems with a different toon other than Admin.

When I dig into figuring out how to actually modify things in the database I will look into changing his current zone so I can log him into somewhere else like Kelethin

Greater Faydark loads fine.
Timorous Deep loads fine.
OutpostOverlord loads...slow but it's up.
OutpostOverlord crashed on the second time through. I selected the wrong character on the character select hoping for the Neriak toon.

Found a few issues that need to go into a new thread though lol. Questions concerning server speed and some backlogging messages that popped up.

Anyway, off to bed I go. I wanted to post in this thread before I forgot since you were having the same problem I was having I think. This will not give you admin stuff suc has spell and the rest of the goodies but it will get you in.
