no login server

I have John Adam's server pack instal, after instructions.
he functioned perfectly
a small mistake with spell gm...
use minilogin privately server (lan)
have with Novicat, acc provided
is not able to, login with client
Client is The Shadow Odyssey build 5040

client say name or passwort is wrong

what is wrong? What need you to find around the mistake?

There is missing information that without I cannot be of assistance.

Can you post both your EQ2MiniLogin.exe output from the console screen.
AND
Your EQ2World.exe output from the console screen.

Just cut and paste the text from each console window. Put them in 2 separate text files named appropriately. Attach both text files to your reply.

When replying at the bottom of the posting screen you'll see 2 to 3 tabs one of them says "Upload attachment" select each file one at a time by browsing for it once you've found the text file click add file and repeat for the second one, then submit your post please.

Log into the game using username admin password admin. Just so I see that out of the box is working before worrying about custom username and passwords.

That was great for the EQ2MiniLogin.exe file output.
Now if you could post EQ2World.exe console output in the same fashion, once I can see what the EQ2World.exe is doing I can definitely answer your question or ask the next one.

Here's my educated guess at the moment.
You created this user in the database and either the password is not passed as "md5" secure. Or your not using upper/lowercase letters.
Let me think a moment....
Here we go...

John Adams had this in his README.TXT file found inside the loginserver folder

insert into account set name='thename',passwd=md5('thepasswd');

change 'thename' <-- 'PutTheAccountNameYouWantCaseSensistive'
There 1 single quote prior 1 after the username your adding.
(swap your new account login name for the word thename)

change ('thepasswd') <-- ('YourPasswordCaseSensitiveHere')
There is 1 single quote prior 1 after the password, as well as, those open/close parenthesis you see in the example.
(swap your new account password for the word thepasswd)

Don't forget those single quotes and feel free to reply either way but that document is in the folder I mentioned in case you want to look at both what I'm saying and what it physically states. You'll find the information near the bottom of the document.

As far as the gm_spells.lua there is not one created. Just create a blank text file in the worldserver/Spells folder and rename it to --> gm_spells.lua instead of something like NewTextDocument.txt. That will quiet that up for now.

Try using phpMyAdmin. After you have the server up and running. (Really only need the database part.) Open, ff (or ie) and type in localhost in the addressbar.

This will open the phpMyAdmin web based mysql admin tool. You should be able to run the command emulates gave you there.

I have used everything I could find to manage mysql. Right now I am using Databasebrowser, but I'm sure that will change. phpMyAdmin is really pretty awesome for what it does in a browser window. That is always my fall back .
