Starting Tables
Hey guys,
I have been messing around with the Emu for a little bit and would really like to do more, I was curious if someone had a SQL dump of the player starting tables they could share, like items, spells and skills. If that was available it would make things much easier and I think maybe spark a little more interest.
So far the Emu has been very stable for me and runs very well, I am very impressed with the work and am hoping to help in some way, I am not a coder but I have been in IT for 18 years and have done application testing professionally here and there.
Anyway, if someone has those tables or could dump them for me that would be great!
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Starting Tables
Hello, and welcome to the community. Thanks for the kind words
If you download our ServerPack (found in Releases), you will have all the current data we have as far as starting_* goes. You can use that DB in place of the one automatically downloaded when you set up a server using binaries from the SVN.
Let us know if you need any additional help with that.
Just the Database/Scripts
The Whole Enchilada

Re: Starting Tables
Thanks for the welcome, I hope I can be of some help soon after I get some things finished and see what I can break
Humm, I have it setup with Serverpack 1.2 and it updated some tables after connecting but when I create a character they are typically un-equipped and when I /itemsearch to get gear they lack the skills to use anything. I logged into Tess and my chars all had normal starting gear, spells and skills so maybe I am missing something... I will try re-loading my database when I get home tonight from work. I can RDP to my server at home to do the database work but running EQ2 through RDP to test... not so much hehe
One other quick question, the 64bit and 32bit handle the same updates/downloads correct? I am running Win7 Ultimate 64bit with 16gb ram,Quad core AMD on a Solid state drive, server runs pretty quick
Thanks again!
Jim

Re: Starting Tables
Ok, I re-sourced the Database and it seems to have loaded much more data this time on server restart. I can not test it until I get home though. There seems to be a lot more in the starting_* tables now so hopefully that's all it was

Re: Starting Tables
There should be no difference. Our server is fairly lightweight. I run all mine on virtual machines with 1GB RAM and 2 vCPUs, and it handles multi-threading just fine, so yours should definitely rock.warborn wrote:One other quick question, the 64bit and 32bit handle the same updates/downloads correct? Re: Starting Tables
Cool, just wanted to make sure they polled the same info
Oh yeah, you guys did great on making the server run well, it flies on my machine.
Thanks for all the input, hate to be a bother but just wanted to save myself some poking around and clarify a couple things.

It's no bother at all when someone asks intelligent questions that cannot easily be found elsewhere

Re: Starting Tables
Well, still no starting items when I make a character and the client locks up after about 5 minutes of playing, even on Tess. No errors logged on the server or client sides and nothing in the server app window but a couple unknown op codes a bit higher up way before the lockup.
Going to try reloading everything and see what happens.

Re: Starting Tables
If that's with the 5040 client, we (devs) experience the same thing sometimes. We're trying to track it down. Try parking your toon in an unpopulated zone (like Antonica) on Tess, /camp, and come back into that zone. Stand around, see if it locks up. If not, then it has to be something to do with the way 5040 handles the spawns/proximity.
We're starting to think 5040 was packaged "early", ie., loaded with bugs, pressed to CD by SOE in Aug 2008, then went live in Nov, thus got patched immediately - all nice and fixed up. :/

Re: Starting Tables
lol, yeah it is a unpatched 5040 install straight off the dvd's...
Humm, guess I need to patch it up and try to find the EQ2Updater to fix the client version. I used to have it but that was a "couple" system wipes ago
