Build 4530L - Updated Tuesday 27 nov - Work for me
I have 3 different update and also bought Rise of Kunark all in one pack. With has all the 4 expansion packs and the 3 adventure packs. I just got the game to day.
So to day I patch the whole game and after that I logged in to a server here(finger crossed) and it worked. I can run around and no crash.
The reason I logged in to a server is because my server crash all the time:(
So if you have the full cd and still want to update you can try it out. Use caution and make a backup from your working EQ2 game. If it not work and you don`t have a back up you are screwed.
Here is a screenshot from it with build.

Really? This is excellent news!
So can we get an official confirmation on whether or not this client version works or not? (Although I believe you.) I was worrying myself to death because I accidentally updated the client and was punching myself in the nuts because I thought I wasn't able to use the client I spent over 12 hours updating with. Appearantly, there was no cut-off for downloading after the 17th or 19th and they snuck in a tiny update on the 21st. I got wind of the EMU that weekend, so I was unable to get the required version, unfortunately.
AFAIK, they only had a small item patch (according to the release notes) that fixed an exploitable trinket/necklace.

The emu should work with the live version until they change the internal version number at which point the emu Login server will tell you that the version of the client you have is incorrect. Because you can't tell for sure until it is too late I suggest that you create a separate directory for the emu's client if at all possible.

Well, when I first tried after I found out I had the wrong client version, it immediately kicked me out with an error. So I thought that it was hopeless. After logging back into the server with a character I created earlier, I was able to log in and run around, much to my surprise.
I'm definately going to back up this bad boy no matter how many DVDs it takes, lol. I can't be arsed for waiting another 20 hours just to update the client again.

Okay, maybe it's just me. But can you interact and do what we're limited to doing on the servers? Last night there were only two of them up and one server (Storm?): I couldn't even log into, and second server: I couldn't target any NPCs or anything. Although the latter let me log in, I was getting kicked with a lot of errors every few minutes.
I haven't tried hosting a server yet to test, but I thought it would be faster to ask since you or someone else might have one set up already.

My server (TessEQ2) has NPCs spawned, but either it is a coincidence, or the more NPCs I spawn, the quicker clients crash. I am not sure what's causing it. I will pull out my spawns, and only put a few on to see if people have more luck.
As for targetting, the only way I get targetting to work is F8. Click-Target doesn't seem to work - and again, it might just be my spawns. I am balancing trying to develop spawned zones with trying to troubleshoot why the server freaks out with spawns set. I am having little luck.
I am not sure if there is any other interaction currently available. I read something about Attack, but I have never tried. My NPCs have 1hp. How fair would that be?
