so close.. but having a version issue

Post by dburg30 » Thu Jan 26, 2012 6:02 pm

login server returned a fatal error.. incorrect version..

I am using the DB from
contentsvn\trunk\database\dumps\dev_db
and the programs from PublicSVN\trunk\bin

I dont know where to find what the version is, and what should be in the version table?
right now in the login DB login_versions are set to 0.6 0.6.5 and 0.7-dev..

please help me to keep my hair :) so I'll quit pulling it out..

ok.. so i guess this version is 0.7.1-dev.. so this thread can be moved / closed / deleted / whatever.

But I do still have the question about how do you know what version it is? right click and properties I was hoping showed the version..

Moved to General Support

Also after you start the server, if you scroll up to the very top it should tell you what version it is, it is like the very first or second line.

Ok thanks.. I knew it had to be there somewhere, I just think my brain was overloaded trying to get it figured out and I missed it.

If you are compiling Public SVN code (current) then you need to set the eq2ls.login_versions table to accept connections from that version, which is 0.7.1-dev

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO eq2ls.login_versions (`version`) VALUES ('0.7.1-dev');
The DB for Minilogin is not on SVN, so that's probably why you didn't get it... and ServerPack 1.3 is fixed, but hasn't been released yet. I will try and release this weekend.

Hope you still have your hair, sorry for your troubles.

I got it up and running.. And now I see a sticky in this forum talking about incorrect version info.. Not sure how I missed that one.. So wasnt a good night lol.. posted in the wrong forum, the answer was right at the top of the 'general support' area... jeez.. I suck..
Next thing is to look around and see how stuff is arranged in the DB, and to check out quest examples.. Been messing with EQemu, so having to change the way I'm thinking when coming over here...
