0.7.2 Planning

Just a rough draft of some things I'd like to see accomplished in the 0.7.2 cycle. I'd like to keep it relatively small, since we're months behind where I thought we'd be due to the loss of, well, pretty much everyone's interest except Jabantiz :mrgreen:


Tasks on Projman (link)


Things to finish off (by priority):
1.I'd like to finish the Alternate Advancement - at least the UI support, not necessarily all the spells and scripts. DONE!

2.Finish Rules System - This is going to be critical moving forward because I'm going to need Zone Rules, vs World/Global Rules. Ongoing, Delayed
  • * Finish Zone Rules
    * Add ability to change rules/rulesets from inside the game on-the-fly Ongoing, Delayed
3. Finish Log System - Scatman needs to add "queuing" so the messages stop overwriting themselves when we turn on a lot of debug logging. DONE!


New Stuff (by priority):
1. Tradeskills - 100% if possible In Progress
2. Pets - At least summoning and they follow you around DONE!
3. Instancing - A system is already started, but Scatman wanted to start over - figure this is needed for Tradeskill instances (though not critical) In Progress


Misc (no priority):
- Zone stuff -
  • * JA's continued work on conditional spawns Delayed
    * discovery locations Delayed
    * Weather system DONE!
- Finish off any unfinished systems / bugs


As with all lists that I make, this is just my opinion. Discussion is welcome if you think there should be something else in the next release, or if you think I've left out finishing something else important.

I will be updating ProjMan a lot over the coming weeks to try and schedule us out through 0.7.5, which at the current rate might be 2 more years :D but we'll see.


Edit: (2013.04.11) We've finished most of the stuff on this list, aside from a few things that require additional planning first. Going go finish up 0.7.2 by April 30, 2013 and start the next cycle.

I agree with this list but I would just like to point out that Pets may take a decent amount of time, still think we should keep that list as it is though.

As my last task before passing out (I am finally tired :)) I went through the 0.7.2 tasks on ProjMan and set all the things above to Priority 1-Immediate, simply meaning I'd like those things to definitely be in 0.7.2 before it is released. How long that takes, we'll need to play it by ear.

Surprisingly, I picked the exact same 4 things as I listed above, forgetting I already posted this thread :) Hail, consistency?

- Tradeskills (Jab)
- AA (Zcoretri)
- Instancing (Scatman)
- Pets (All)

We'll have all those little things to do when we get bored ;)

Sound good?
