Entity Load
Again, problem come, can't zone on server, cause gameclient crash each time at entity loading, 2000 + entity then crash.
Remember a long time ago LE fix it by loading entity with radius (correct me if i am wrong) still should working or not ?
Remember on live I see only hudge entity loading on group or raid instance (seem to load all without any restriction) but other zone not load mutch entity

Re: Entity Load
Currently it doesn't load by radius from what I've seen and I've been meaning to bring up the radius thing but got side tracked since that is what EQ2 does and would stop the crashing with zones that have massive amount of spawns.

Look's like it was Rev: 540 that he added it in.

Re: Entity Load
I believe EQ2Emu DB Project has zones spawned from logs and hasn't been cleaned up yet so in some zones it is possible to have 2000+ mobs within the radius. I am not sure if that is the server you were trying or a diffrent one.

So the range he set was 150 not sure if it's still the same can try setting that to 50 and see what happens.

Re: Entity Load
@Jab cleanned zone or not, sure it load to many entity than live played for 6 years and never see 2000 + entity loading (ex Kylong plain have more than 2000 spawns). I really think it don't take count about radius right now, when LE att it it was "visible" in game
@Xinux is the engine / check LE add in rev 540 still effective ? I remember it cause some problem, server wasn't send spawn as he should. Maybe 50 can be a good fix, and optimize the client loading, and give us possibility to zone in uncleaned zone.
The place you can see really entity not all load in zoning on live is in a Guild Hall (Antonica or FP) with a lot or object, you see it appaire when you move, and see in connexion windows data transfert grow up.

Re: Entity Load
The problem is multiple logs have been spawned, some zones have over 25000 spawns in them, it is possible that one of these zones has more then 2000 spawns up within the range. This is assuming you tried to log on the EQ2Emu DB Project server, if it is another server then I have no clue what the issue is.

Re: Entity Load
You cannot log into EQ2 DB Project server -=at all=- right now, because as Jabantiz clearly stated, 25,000 spawns in Antonica is guaranteed to have 2,000 spawns within 150' radius. This is a fact, because we have seen it ourselves by tuning our clients down to lowest possible graphics.
You should not see this issue on EQ2TC. If you do, let us know. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong here that won't be fixed when Content gets cleaned up.

Re: Entity Load
My bad, sorry
@J.A. So maybe entity radius can be set with server rules ? Can be helpfull for dev and after for some server admin who want fast loading or other thing for player. But maybe if this is set to another value client bug ?

Re: Entity Load
I believe it could be, for sure. May be a good idea as you said. Small zones could be spawned entirely at once, while really crowded ones have a smaller radius. Wondering if we could almost make it dynamic as well, depending on number of spawns, do some quick math and adjust accordingly. Jab?

Re: Entity Load
Currently the radius is just a #define, we could change it into a variable per zone and have the rule system manage it, or we could add a column to the zones table to make it a per zone thing. As for dynamic I am not sure how well that would work, or how to calculate it, all options are something to look into though.
I know there are client settings to change view distance, do those work on the emu or does info get sent to the server when those are changed, if so may be able to make it a per client thing as well.

That what I was thinking yes can be really usefful for group and raid instance (when instance going to be functionnal) and some zonesJabantiz wrote:we could add a column to the zones table to make it a per zone thing.
