EQ2 logging

Post by Flunklesnarkin » Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:28 pm

Is there a logging option for EQ2?

I know very little about the EQ2 interface but if there is, it might help me describe errors when I encounter them.

Here is the first error I ran into, It happened right after I accepted the "The Presence of Evil Quest". I crashed to desktop (CTD)

Another thing i noticed when playing around with the "Knowledge Window". There was an ability called moon jump, which is admittedly fun to play around with. However, I seem unable to cancel it. I get a message saying that it is uncancelable and it lasts something like 49 days lol.

Thanks for the report. There are many "crashes for no apparent reason" in EQ2Emu with clients receiving bursts of unknown data, usually due to an internet hiccup or some desync between your client and our server. If the problem is 100% reproducible, we will definitely take a look into it... but generally, you'll see crashes for ProxyActor, ghostMap, and a couple other types. While annoying, you should just ignore them unless doing the exact same steps can reproduce the crash repeatedly.

A reproducible bug is a dead bug.

As for Moon Jump, it is just a fun spell that should be cancel-able. If not, well enjoy jumping about ;)
