As of 3/8, the exact items can be "fished" from the schools, however the quest credit does not update, and even though a player has the necessary 6/6 Chrykori fish in inventory the quest giver does not acknowledge their acquisition.

Thanks for the update. Pretty sure in EQ2, you do not have to necessarily collect qty of 6, then "hand in". You should be getting quest dings for each successful fish you acquire as it happens, until you get to 6 total.

Make sure the item you are fishing is "Chrykori saltfin", or item_id 4363. If I have time today, I'll try doing the quest myself.

This may be working now, wanted to retest tonight (after new VM migration) but the server has just crashed again for reasons unknown to my wife and I. Do we not have an auto-restarter for the login and world server processes? When the world goes down it stays down for 12+ hours unless admin is there to babysit it.

The reason the world stays down is because we need to trap the crashes to defeat them. I apologize for the delay getting it back running, but there's no way to be active at the console 24x7 :P

Debug mode server is also extremely slow responding, so I try NOT to use it as often as I can, but whatever it is you (and your wife) are doing are finding a crash bug that needs to be fixed. So definitely keep doing whatever it is you are doing, even unintentionally, until this problem gets resolved.

Thanks for your continued testing and patience.

Hah, someone actually uses that server? :) I just checked on it this morning, first time in months... and she's still running. That was a shock

Just for clarification to this bug it's not a code issue the item id in the quest script was just different than the item harvested from the nodes. I can go in to fix the scripts where this happens and upload the updated scripts or just wait for the new items db if it's coming up sometime soon, your call John.

You can fix the script right online using our DB Editor. Give it a try, if nothing else it will familiarize you with one of our optional interfaces. We'll talk about other options once zone building starts.

The db editor only has the qeynos zones you had spawned on your server as far as quest scripts are concerned  I've found this problem in a few scripts though so I'll go ahead and fix it where I find it. I assume the scripts were just written with a different items db other than milestone 1 release and never updated

Oh duh... the DB editor is pointed at our NEW db effort. Sorry :)

Yeah in that case, skip it. You'll want to use the new items, though I am not yet ready to port them to EQ2TC just yet. It will break hundreds of scripts/quests and I do not have time to fix all that just yet. Fix the scripts locally, and you should be able to commit them to eq2content SVN. I can then apply them on EQ2TC (this was the other option I had mentioned heh)
