Wow, we could have told them that after F2P model went live that "restriction only piss people off when you throw the word "Free" around" :) Glad to see they came to their senses. Maybe this game will finally get the attention it deserves.

Yeah. I would never play eq2 again without a sub, just because I've played through all the lower content and only have end-game to enjoy, but this is great news for casual players.

He also indicated that Chains of Eternity should be the last official EQII expansion pack.

Uh oh... I don't think I've ever heard SOE say last time they'll take our money. Even EQ 1 is still pooping out packs, no?

Guess EQNext is coming :)

they'll probably go the route of dcuo and pump out dlc instead, with a sub unlocking it all. I actually like DCUO's f2p model better, you can basically do all the unlocked content you're just limited in buying/selling and amount of content from dlc's.
