Archetype / Class data

Post by John Adams » Fri Dec 06, 2013 8:07 am

In the editor, if you pick Fighter, Priest, Mage or Scout, you will see what was once data that ALL their sub-classes would use. I am not convinced this data actually ends up on a character anymore. I made a Level 85 Guardian, and couldn't find most of the stuff listed under Fighter or Warrior.

You will notice some of these are insanely NOT Fighter-related... Yet SOE data shows those classes... if these are wrong, we can Hide them.

Further down is the "Class" level, which are your Warriors, Clerics, Sorcerers and Rogues (example). Review the spells/abilities listed here, and tell me what you think.

Note here how Bash is listed for Warriors (that is, Guardian AND Berserker). However, Zerk's don't have Bash, Guardians do... see my confusion?

This post is to discuss this particular scenario, to help decide what we should do. For now, I am suggesting we skip them altogether, unless you feel we need that data (like Fighting Chance, for example).

I say we skip them right now also. One of the several SOE spell revamps (announced or not announced, haha) took a lot of the common Archtype spell stuff away and gave each class their own and gave it a different name.

That's what I concluded happened as well, looking at Zam abilities and spell scroll lists. So unless anyone opposes, let's skip any Archetype/Class data unless it's the HO starter for each archetype.

There is also the Master Rage ones, but we don't support spells that require completing quests yet anyway. We could just give it to players for free for now...

I say we skip most of that data, however there are some that should be done, for example Vampire Bats, it is a useful spell that both classes could use at low levels, also something people who play live would expect to get upon leveling up.

Maybe SOE just keep it as it is cause mobs < T7 mostly have archetype and not clearly a class ?
Also notified that long time ago on VP trash, mob use archetype buff with very old name (release)
Fight with me... Or die, like the rest.
