EQ2 Laptop

Post by Arremis » Fri Jan 25, 2008 8:33 am

To cut down on space, I was thinking about changing my 3-Comp LAN for a 3-Laptop wireless LAN. For cost reasons, I'll be building this LAN using barebones laptops, and I need some advice on the specs of parts I'll be needing. It's been about 10 years since I've worked on laptops, so I'm a bit behind the times on the different components, but the sole purpose of these rigs is to play on EQ2. So any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks :)

To run a game like EQ2 from a laptop requires a lot of resources. I will just give you a general idea of what you would need parts wise. As long as the skelly computers are pretty recent you should be ok.
Any motherboard that can support Duo and good GFX Card
List:
Motherboard(s)
Aspire 5610 series For A Duo Core
AS5610-2273, AS5610-4075, AS5610-4491
Or
CYBERPOWER X5-HEL-80
Support nVideo video cards
XPS M1210 (PP11S)
Support For Nvidia
RAM
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2 Dimms)
Hard Drive
At Least A 80gb SATA Hard Drive
DVD Drive
Any you can find
GFX Card
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT Or Greater
Battery
56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
You don't exactly need Nvidia Supported Motherboard if you have an ATI supported board that will work also.
I just wanted to give you an idea of what you might need. You can google this stuff and find something similar you may have.
Also the above listed motherboards will have lan built in them
