Got good news and bad news.
Bad news is... no, or at least i don't think so, this seems to be the only EQ2 emu around.
Good news is AA isn't implemented yet, or if it is its very broken but a lot of stuff is so if you want to actually play EQ2 there's nothing available as far as i know.

You could set up a server just now and have a look, http://www.eq2emulator.net/phpBB3/viewt ... =51&t=3795 download the server pack, unrar it to any drive C:\ D:\ E:\ ect and run the batch files in order, works with the latest client.

PS maybe someone else will answer your question in more detail though.
I cant see it killing the server but it may have an incorrect tooltip. Muhahaha

The server pack linked above will get a server up and running that you can log on and play by yourself, however do to our small team only frostfang will be playable. Our focus is to get content from live as we can get data for that, even then it takes a lot of time, so we have no classic option yet as far as content goes.

As of now we don't have aa's yet, when we do add them we will probably have a rule to enable or disable them.

Jeepers.

What Dello0000 actually means is, this is the only EQ2Emulator project in existence, which is awesome that there is one at all. Our Emulator is still Alpha, meaning it is far from finished, and our content is minimal but being worked on slowly. Since SOE offers a Free-To-Play service, we've felt we have plenty of time to add features since players can experience the real game for free today.

Well basically what i was looking to do was going as far back as the isle of refuge still being around. i liked when all of the older content was around and temple street was still around. i think thats my goal is to try to get back into it the old style way. but it really sucks to know nobodies gone that far back yet. is it that difficult to get something classic going? or is it just nobody has taken the time to do so.

Sorry it took so long to approve this post, I have been busy with RL and forgot to check for pending posts over the past few days.

Nobody has taken the time, the zones are still there, even the old qeynos and Freeport zones are still in the client so you could use those if you wanted to. We *might* do the islands but if we do it will probably be at the end of the shattered lands content that we are currently working on and that could still be a ways off in the future with our small team.

We will also more then likely use the new Qeynos/Freeport as our goal is to match live.

DB Milestone 1, released years ago, was the original world of Isle of Refuge (Queen's Colony, Outpost of the Overlord) and all the city villages and quests. That was our first round of content, before the game changed so drastically in recent years we opted to scrap the old work and start over with the new starter locations (FrostfangSea)

You can see this work in the ServerPack 1.3 release. This pack of course will not work with the newer clients, so it wold have to be updated accordingly, which is no easy task going from 2 years ago through today. Structs, binaries need updating, then connect to public patch server to get DB changes; but, it can be done.

The problem with DB Milestone 1 was missing data and incomplete encounters. We had no content devs for almost 3 straight years, so maintaining the existing content fell secondary. Though I can promise, DB Milestone 2 will include old starter location data as well - just not until we finish the course we're on right now, giving current players an ability to progress 1-50 in EQ2Emu.

I remember them islands. Packed with people enjoying the wonders of EQ2 when it first came out, then moving to Qeynos or Freeport, Iv never played the "New" EQ2, must say i don't much care for the Frostfang Sea starter location. That being said on live as a high elf you start in qeynos so it should be the same here once more of the important stuff is fleshed out.

But yeah, the old EQ2 was great, the new expansion's and stuff remind me of empty zones. I do think barbarians should start in Frostfang. Give it more of an EQ1 "each race has its own starting zone" feel to it.
