Read several posts about this, as I understand it you can change the skin color under the npc_appearance table. So I fired up my gui (using Novicat) open then table and look at the other entries. There appeared to be 33 entries for each spawn_id. Looking up the spawn I wanted to change in the spawn table it had an id of 270000. So going back to the npc_appearance table I proceeded to create several new entries like so.
Code: Select all
373668 270000 0 cheek_type -9 34 0
373669 270000 0 chin_type -98 97 87
373671 270000 0 ear_type -56 87 0
373672 270000 0 eye_brow_type -48 -77 22
373673 270000 0 eye_color 41 125 97
373674 270000 0 eye_type 4 0 0
373675 270000 0 hair_color1 2 59 22
373676 270000 0 hair_color2 248 0 0
373677 270000 0 hair_face_color 184 128 0
373678 270000 0 hair_face_highlight_color 221 177 18
373679 270000 0 hair_highlight 239 221 86
373680 270000 0 hair_type_color 184 128 10
373681 270000 0 hair_type_highlight_color 221 177 18
373682 270000 0 lip_type -79 -81-7
373683 270000 0 nose_type -12 2 59
373684 270000 0 skin_color 248 253 253
373685 270000 0 soga_cheek_type 0 -48 -77
373686 270000 0 soge_chin_type 0 79 -81
373687 270000 0 soga_ear_type 0 4 0
373688 270000 0 soga_eye_brow_type 0 -56 87
373689 270000 0 soga_eye_color 229 229 102
373690 270000 0 soga_eye_type -8 0 0
373691 270000 0 soga_hair_color1 209 131 22
373692 270000 0 soga_hair_color2 199 150 48
373693 270000 0 soga_hair_face_color 184 128 10
373694 270000 0 soga_hair_face_highlight_color 221 177 18
373695 270000 0 soga_hair_highlight 239 221 86
373696 270000 0 soga_hair_type_color 184 128 10
373697 270000 0 soga_hair_type_highlight_color 221 177 18
373698 270000 0 soga_lip_type -7 -98 97
373699 270000 0 soga_skin_color 248 253 253
373700 270000 0 wing_color1 255 255 255
373701 270000 0 wing_color2 255 255 255
Of coarse in true fashion I had/have no clue what most of those values really mean and the posts I read basically said they have little affect on the model and are tilting of the eye brow, nose, lips, etc. So I did what any lazy person would, I copied the entry right above me to serve as a base line so I could determine what/how to change the entries. Refreshing the table shows all the entries are there. However when I /Reload Spawns in game the model does not change at all. Thinking OK maybe the skin_color and/or soga_skin_color are for a dark model I tried to reverse the spectrum. Refreshing table /reload spawns... Model does not change at all, still dark. Am I missing something easy again? Or perhaps there has to be another entry in another table to make the changes?

For the color elements it is a standard RGB with values of 0 - 255. 0, 0, 0 would be black and 255, 255, 255 would be white. Also not all models are effected the same way, some will just slightly tint the color while other will have absolutely no effect (depends what mood SOE/Daybreak was in when they made the model). If it is a standard player model you should see some effect from going from one extreme to the other if you don't try completely restarting the server.

Using model type 134 human male from the eq2models table. Chosen because there were other models in the spawn table with the same model. After shutting down and restarting the server, still no change. Updating the spawn_npc table works just fine. able to give the model several different types pf hair and /reload spawns works to update the model. PS running everything as admin as windows is funny that way sometimes.

Hmm not sure why you are not seeing results, will have to play around with it locally and get back to you.

Turned on all the soga models and soga options are updating. Turned the models off again and now the most of other fields are updating, however the skin_color just will not update. Perhaps it is like you said, the model. I'll pick another model and play with it for awhile.

When creating a new char is the skin color in the world the same you selected in char select? There may be a struct issue with the newer clients causing this issue.

Damnable spaces....enough said about that. Simple typing skills are what I was lacking.
