Updated Client

Post by JKususky » Wed Dec 09, 2015 1:28 am

Greetings

My live client was opened last night by *someone who will not be named  * which prompted an update to Everquest II. Now I'm receiving a "this version does not match the client, please rerun the patcher." Am I now currently screwed since my client was updated to the post 12/5/2015 version?

Thanks

-J

It looks like it was a version range bump, putting it up on the DB patcher now and will restart the emu servers. This will allow you to log in, still going to have some issues until the structs are figured out.

I have one more question while I'm here.

I can't seem to see an items in the /item window. And the /giveitem option always turns up no results when entering the correct item ID. The worldserver shows that it loaded a said amount of items and I have no issue connecting to the data base. Every item is nameless and has no appearance to it.

Any opinions? Thanks!

UPDATE on that

I can do the /giveitem command but it shows up as a blank space in my bag with no name.

Those are likely struct issues that still needs to be figured out for new clients. When there are major changes, like the recent expansion, a lot of stuff like that tend to break and it takes us a little bit to figure it all out.

Hmm even if it was like this before I updated? I was running my server two days ago and still had this issue before my client was updated last night. So even on the pre 12/5/2015 version.

I just want to make sure I'm not missing some sort of connection or files.

We haven't had a chance to update any structs since the expansion went live yet (that was last month I think). So any recent client we have allowed to connect is going to have problems. Just looking at the item examines and the lack of names tells me it is a struct issue. It is on our todo list but we are a small team so it will probably take us a few days once we get started.

Oh it's not a problem! I was just clarifying it wasn't on my end!

Thanks again!

Here are some structs for the latest client (patched on 12/8/15), far from perfect yet but should fix the annoying color issue caused by rain and make the item info better, still issues with items though.
