A Special Thanks

Post by Gangrenous » Fri Jul 22, 2016 8:12 am

I wanted to give a special thanks to everyone currently on this project and also a special thanks to everyone that was involved in the project in the past. This is a thankless task most of the time, the level of effort put into it versus the reward. I am glad to have a stomping ground to be able to achieve a goal I have wanted for quite some time. So far it has been a lesson in patience, I get very frustrated with my server but brickwalls are there to keep out the people that do not want it badly enough. I have had to fight through crashes, lots of custom changes for what I am trying to accomplish. I will get there though.

Well, you are first one who has actually stuck around awhile to get stuff accomplished, and for that I thank you! :D
I wish I could devote more time, but life/work has seemed to consume my free time here the past year and a half. I am a new homeowner and the wife keeps piling on these honey do's

Well I have tons to do but the important thing is progress. Thing are getting better daily. I have been working on the editor in parallel so that has taken some of my time. Today I worked on HP and Power regen rates. I am probably going to expand that tonight and make it a bit more custom where some races get a higher regen rate. I have been making custom quest, spells for the Conjuror are now on merchants, nothing auto-learned. Still tons to do but a little bit each day.

You said it Gangrenous! Huge thanks to all those that contribute to this project old and new. I wish I could help you out with the problems you are facing while making your server, but that stuff is wayyyy out of my league.

Zcoretri Congrats on the new home. I myself am currently a new home owner as well. Well its almost completed and I can start moving in soon. Man how those honey do list grow. I feel your pain bro, it's never ending around here.

I have had a productive night so far. I removed mini-dings, completely forgot they even existed. I have created routines for hp and mana regen and mimicked EQ1 regen rates fairly accurately, even have Troll and Iksar regen at EQ1 rates. Things are churning along.

Impressed that I see this momentum forward. I would love to see this flourish and constantly lurking in the background to lend a helping hand when I see an opening. Good luck everyone and zcor with that honey do list.

I will keep hitting issues that are supposedly too difficult for my experience at coding. You notice I use the word supposedly. So far I have been able to code them all, even the ones I got frustrated with thinking it was not worth the effort. I always have to quote Randy on things....

“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
