Spawnnign groups of mobs
i am trying to spawn 4 groups of 2 oakmyst spiders, i get them spawned, but for the life of me i cant figure out how to make them linked to gether so when you target one the other has circle around it as well, i thought it had to do with the combine command, but that just combine every mob in the zone with a group id of 0 together

Are you spawning through a script or just placing in the world? Placing in the world you just need to use the /spawn group command to link them together. If it is through a script there is currently no way to group them through the script.
If spawning through a script there may be a workaround but I have never tried it, basically place them in the world where they would spawn and group them, then set the percent to spawn to 0 so they never show in the world. In the spawn script spawn them by location id and it may be possible that they will be linked.

spawning directly in the world, i can not find details in the wiki for spawn group command

ok got it figured outby looking through the code for spawn group commands, for those that would like to know how i did it here goes
spawned to oakmyst spiders with the spawn 1950014 (twice)
/spawn add new "spider" on both
/reload spawns ( this was important because next step did not work if i didnt do it first)
target the first spider
/spawn group create spider
you will get a message that you succesfully created a new spawn group with id xxxxx
remember the id for the later
target your second spider
/spawn group add xxxxxxx ( xxxxxxx= the spawn group id from above
/reload spawns
now when you target one they will both have target rings
spawned to oakmyst spiders with the spawn 1950014 (twice)

That sounds about right. Look under Spawn Group Associations on the wiki. That should have all the steps needed

NP. It seems to be hidden in the World Developer/Content Design Section. It seems information gets overlooked here often. Hell even I can't find some things, and I reworked it once already.
I'm not much for designing stuff, so if you have ideas about the wiki throw up a post and tell me your ideas. I'll look them over and then try to convince you to be the wiki guy.

FYI, there is also a /spawn template command, though I do not think it templatizes "group/association" set ups. But it could be handy if you're manually popping similar configs around a zone.

Thanks John! I love templates! I need to move that to the wiki someday as I don't think it's there yet. Like I said I loose stuff on the wiki all the time. I really need to find a better way to present what the wiki has.
