This post is to discuss DLW and for KhaineGB to post info and questions on developing content for this 2nd starter zone.

Note that as I am now playing DLW on Live, many of the original quest and spawn scripts designed by Scatman in 2008 still may apply. So unlike Frostfang, where nothing had ever been done before, DLW has scripts already. Hopefully that will make the task easier.

I've actually been poking around DLW myself.

From what I can tell, a couple of the VERY start quests are changed slightly... to represent the fact the wall has been blown to all hell by the elementals. The NPC's changed position slightly as well.

Everything else beyond Hates Envy is -exactly- the same.

Thankfully my level 95 coercer was powerlevelled, so he never did the DLW quests (despite starting there)... so I can run the quests to check things. :)

It has been some time since anything has been done to this zone. Now that I know a little more on what I am doing, I have take up this zone.

All NPC's have been spawned with the exception of those that spawn from a quest. I believe everything else was already merged to the zone, and just a portion of NPC's were missing.

Currently I am working my way through each quest on live and adding them to our server. So far the 4 quest I have been working on had to be made from scratch. Since Jabantiz has created the quest parser tool it should make writing quest a lot faster, and easier.

DLW is a beautiful place, my favourite of the new zones for sure, even if im SICK of it :P

Thanks. It's been one big pain in the butt. I learned a lot there, and messed up a lot more. I felt sorry for Jab because I sent him a million messages. Didn't give him a chance to do anything else. :mrgreen:

When you douse skeletons with stunspore dust it stuns them and does not have a casting bar show up. How can I do this in the lua script?

Might be an easier way? But I think you'd just set the item up to cast a spell, which you'd give a cast time.

I have it set up to use the CastSpell() function right now, but that shows the yellow casting time bar and it includes spell name. I have to figure out how to hide the bar, or just apply stun instead of using a spell.

The spell would have to have a casting time of 0. Or you can set up an entity command, cast the entity command from the item script then in the spawn script apply the stun with a timer to remove it if it ever gets removed.

Most of the time a casting bar is displayed.
I didn't get a chance to fix this yet, and I will also need to find the correct spelling with the correct visual.

I'll have to look when I get home. Probably is as Dust to Dust quest requires you to douse skeletons with stunspore dust
