Alternate Advancement project

Post by Rixan » Wed Dec 26, 2018 10:35 pm

Hail.

I was wondering if Jabantiz (or anyone else experienced with C++ really) would like to start making Alternate Advancement window a reality? By reality, I mean all the buttons should be functional and working (as in they are not greyed out). I believe the buttons inside the AA window can be somehow enabled by setting a value for all expansions in the server code. However, it's probably more than just that, which I'm not aware of.

Months ago, I learned how to make racial spells appear inside the AA window in Stitch PVP server. The spells are visible in the Character Development window -- but they do not show any tooltip when hovered, cannot be examined or clicked at all.

And when you leave Character Development area, you cannot go back to that same area unless you camp out and back in.

This is what AA tabs look like right now in Stitch PVP, for those who are curious:

AA experience and AA levels would also have to be implemented to go with this, I reckon.

So, yeah, EQ2 server code is out of my league currently. I'm just a mere LUA scripter. I would be very appreciated if someone will take a look into this.

Thanks for reading!

We did have the buttons enabled at one point. What client are you using?

The required expansion should be taken care of if the correct value is set in a login packet and zone packet, tab names are part of the zone packet as well if I remember right.

Zcoretri was the one originally working on AA's but he hasn't been active in a while. I know he had test data for stuff to display but I am not sure how far along the actual system is.

I'm using October 26th, 2018 14350L client build.

If you want, you can check out our server code located over at GitHub: https://github.com/stitchpvp/world

I've been having trouble getting all the features to show up as enabled on various clients. Even when the values match what live sends, and the /features command or whatever it is matches what live lists. Feels like there's some other flags hidden somewhere else perhaps, maybe in the CharSheet.

Just need to dig around and find what's missing.

The main issue with tabs (aa and guild) that prevented us from working on stuff for so long was data in the zone info packet. I can't tell you exactly what unkowns it was because I stumbled across it while trying to fix another problem. It is more then just the expansion field though.
