location detecting

Post by Ememjr » Mon Mar 25, 2019 4:10 pm

any support for locations like crossing a line that goes from point a point b or covers a specific area

ie most of the discovery points you get cover an area not a specific spot lets tak crator pond in antonicia , or archer wood

on live you pretty much get that update as soon as you set foot in them but they are not perfect circles to use the proximity 40

If we are talking players then yes those zone locations are handled, if it is not a zone location and something in a quest then no it is not.

For NPC's the answer is no, really location stuff for them.

zone locations are handled by the db tables `location` and `location_details` and code in the server to check if you are within the bounds of the given coords, that said after adding a few locations it is obvious that the checks aren't 100% accurate, it seems to work in most cases but not all.

For the quest you could add multiple small locations in an attempt to create the shape you need.

i was thinking if the zone way is close, then i could

if you enter that location and have the quest and are on that step, then update the quest
