Re: Public Web Editor
What really sucks about web development is that it seems to take 10 times longer. If this was a Windows Forms application like the last one I did, I would had been done in two weeks. You are always fighting with CSS positioning and javascript.

Re: Public Web Editor
Are you using CSS grid and/or flexbox?
It's not bad at all using modern things.

Yes, and yes.
It is still a pain in the ass, not as bad as it used to be.

On a similar topic. Dropdowns....
They are great and a pain. Lets say a character dropdown. Not so bad when you have 20 characters but if a live server ran for a few years after all this is done, we could have 10,000 users. So a dropdown is well, not going to work. There again you cannot just do an autofill as you type. I mean what if you are not positive what the characters name is. Sometimes you may know the characters name and could type it out and let it autofill, other times you may need to browse. I am trying to make it to where you do not go to search screens, too much navigation and page refreshing. I want one refresh, that is when you actually select the character. Thoughts?
I thought maybe have the dropdown on the left and a filter box on the right? As you type in the right input box it filters down the dropdown? I am open for ideas.
This is a struggle for everything, especially items. Sometimes you may want to filter by slots, class but other times you may want to just type in "bone chip". I had done something like this, but I am also open to change it.
Is this approach like in the screenshot going to work for people or do we want a change?

Re: Public Web Editor
If I were implementing that, I'd have a normal paginated listing of all characters.
If I know exactly the character I want, I can type it into a search (which you could have dynamically autofill from the server).
But if I don't know the character already, a list seems more appropriate than a giant dropdown of all the characters.

Anyone got a list of Deity? I looked for a set of constants and past post, but nothing. Otherwise, I will just have to do them one by one, creating characters.

Really looking for the deity and the index. I can create things this weekend and flesh it out.
