Using a base class
I am trying something different and maybe between a few of us, we could figure it out. This is where I am at. I can remap a character and do something like create a conjuror now and when he is created he will appear as his base class (mage). I can log in and out and he will still be a mage, very simple to figure that all out. If I create an item like food and make it usable as a few classes lets say conjuror and mage it works fine. Now if I take a piece of armor and do the exact same thing only the conjuror show and it will be red. I can still equip the armor but the data is not making it to the client properly because only that class shows. As a test I took and enabled every class on an item and only the adventure classes show. I know this is how it should be and working normally but is there a way to change that? I have been digging through the code now for hours and still not seeing where it is happening.

Re: Using a base class
Well this is getting interesting. So I took the armor item and made no changes other than changing the type to food, no changes. But when I added a row to item_details_food suddenly the classes are now showing correct. No other changes and /reload items was called both times and new items summoned.

Re: Using a base class
similar to what i did for class, no matter what class you create you will end up up on the island a commoner, the first quest you get is choose your archtype
you will then chose fighter, scout, mage or priest
i just changed existing armour and wepons to the proper class, pluss created some
thats about as far as a got, but plan on doing the next set up quests tso you can slect the sub class at level 10
and then the class quests at level 20
** disclaimer, this is all disabled at the moment while my server is being used your bug squashing and implementation of missing stuff
you will then chose fighter, scout, mage or priest

Yeah, that would not be too hard. The issue I ran into was more detailed though and does not look doable. I will switch gears and adjust.

Re: Using a base class
i just re read your post
so your item usable by mage and it does not show a mage can use it (not good) but shows a conjurer can use it and its red(normal if your a mage
correct?
if you have usable class as mage it should show up in item as All Mages

Re: Using a base class
I think we can close this one now. From everything I see, it cannot be done easily if at all. I basically will just be remapping all classes at creation.

Re: Using a base class
yes i believe you are correct, for the item display at least the client does not seem to recognize fighter, scout, mage and priest, as a separate class

Re: Using a base class
It does seem to for the character though which is strange.
