Tradeskills

I know I have a previous topic, somewhat related but that was back in early 2018.

What game had the best tradeskills?

Do you like the EQ1 or EQ2 method of tradeskills more?

I enjoyed both of them tbh. Nothing like hitting combine and loosing all you ingredients because it was not the correct recipe. Then you have eq2 lol.

you woke up my lurkerness with talk of subcombines. oh yes plz. i really want to at least try them once before deciding if i agree with the vocal ones that they suck. since lots of us are unlikely to ever have a nice populated server with people who, at least somewhat, want to play the same type of eq2 as we do - if subcombines are actually a nightmare to manage - there would at least be something to do. tbh, i truly would enjoy an inventory nightmare to solve.

all we'd need then is some random broker purchases made by the system to emulate a healthy economy.

as to eq1 or eq2 crafting - i never played eq1. the eq2 123 456456456465 would be ok for maybe leveling up on quests (but not for writs). but i'm really over doing that for every single thing i make. it's not so awful when you can juggle a chat window but fairly mind numbing otherwise.

the other thing eq2 really needs is some kind of tree structure for filtering on individual recipes - eg) the T4 priest chain set, including the jewelry you've decided is best for t4 priest.

speaking of tradeskills - one thing i never understood is why does eq2 have to load all a toon's recipes every time they zone instead of only when the recipe book is first opened after you zone or add a new book?

anyways, nice to see people still thinking about this project. wish my health was good enough that i thought i could figure out how to get this all installed on my system
