First off EQ2Maps save the maps with a standard like so
This leads to the maps being named something along these linesmap_<map style_name>[_<map_number>].dds
With that I used a combination of Looking at EQ2 Interface and looking into an expansion after CoE. Reason for that is I have maps up to CoE and the next step was to move to the next expansion, Tears of Veeshan. First map in ToV is Vesspyr Isles, after I opened the web map I viewed image. The url contains the image name map_exp10_rgn_dragons_realm_0.jpg which lead me to our zone of 720 with the name, and file, being exp10_rgn_dragons_realm. I zoned in and compared it to the web map image and it looks like a match. So I went a head and updated the zone name and description in our web editor.
- map_exp01_dun_living_tombs_0.dds
- map_exp01_dun_living_tombs_1.dds
- map_runnyeye.dds
This led me to start searching on our describe me zones by listing them by description in HeidiSQL. Note that there are some zones that will crash the client if you enter them like solusekeye_epic04_elemental_nagafen(768) and avatar_arena (769) the first two on the list. Look on this post and this post for those latest zones that were added that contain a list of the zones crashing the clent.
Now the next one was a bit tricky as it is actually housing. The zone is veteran_ph_mistmoore (514) and I ran across a post over at EQ2 Interface called Prestige Housing and Guild Halls. I see it has a nice big list to look through and I did find what I was looking for. The site shows me this.
Since that is the only place I can find veteran_ph_mistmoore, and the zone didn't match any of the maps for mistmoore on EQ2Maps list, I went a head and changed the name and description for this one as well.Mistmoore Crags Estates = Mistmoore Crags Estate = veteran_ph_mistmoore(_tour) - (Has a good map)
If anyone else does this make sure that the name is like this MistmooreCragsEstates, the file is left alone, and the description is changed to this Mistmoore Crags Estates.
If anyone else has a better way or other tricks then post them up. Maybe we can start identifying these zones at some point.
Jabantiz If I got the naming wrong let me know and I will correct it, but this is how it looks in the db so that is what I went off of.
