New guy here
Hail and well met everyone,
I am very interested in this project. I played EQ2 from first week live and EQ1 and UO before those. I have dabbled in Java some and am a quick learner. I am not currently playing EQ2 but have moved on to Vanguard. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know. To me this is a very exciting project.

Not speaking for Drayln, but Vanguard is maturing into a very sound, fun game. There is still a lack of high-end content, so those of us who raid "APW" repeatedly are bored to tears. You know if you stare at the same walls day in and day out for months, it makes you insane.
But support is what it is: SOE. The game itself? Brilliant. The textures and atmosphere is amazing. The fight mechanics are pretty good, but could definitely use improvement. The chat system blows (but of course). But in general, if you like RPGs and have $40 to blow, I -->highly<-- recommend trying VG (even if just the trial for free - though imo, no "free" trials can really show off a game this massive).
PS: There are nay-sayers about everything - doesn't matter how perfect or not. People will pew pew the second coming of Christ if he wasn't wearing the right color garment, and would turn their nose up at daddy getting them their own Porsche because it didn't have a 10-disc changer. So before you judge any game from what "internet experts" say, try it yourself. My best advice.

My experience with VG is ever changing. I see the potential of the game and that makes me very excited. As in most things SOE does devs tend to lean more to adding new things than working problems with exisiting. I will say VG is doing much better at this than EQ2 did in its first year though. I forsee VG rounding out to be a mix of UO, EQ1 and EQ2 with just a dash of the likable aspects of WoW. The world is extremely impressive, but requires a monster PC to run on anything over balanced setting. This purely from a solo perspective I can not vouch for those settings on a lower end machine in a raid or flooded Mob environment. Overall I am impressed with VG.
Beyond that I am excited about working with this project in any way I can. I am attending college now with the intention of getting my Bachelors in Information Security. I intend on working with many aspects of prgramming and networking, so mixing this project into this I see it as a learning environment for something I love. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I hope I can help.
